Louisa is a dance and movement enthusiast who loves to share this passion with her students. Louisa earned a BFA in Dance from Adelphi University, then completed the Limón Professional Studies Program, performing works by José Limón, Doris Humphrey, and others. She has performed with Dance Visions NY since 2014, and was recently promoted to Assistant Director of the company. Louisa has also been a dancer with UrbanHumans and Resonant Dance, and she has performed as a guest with the Limón Dance Company in the José Limón International Dance festival at the Joyce Theater. Louisa also enjoys teaching dance and working with children. She has taught at Next Step Broadway in Jersey City since 2015, and considers this her dance home! She was previously an early childhood educator at Pono, an outdoor democratic school in Harlem, where she was also the director of the Movement program. Additionally, Louisa has taught at the 92nd St Y, and with the Limón4Kids program, bringing Limón dance to NYC schools, as well as the Jumpstart Creative Movement program with children in daycares and nurseries in Upper Manhattan. Louisa is now a certified instructor with Moving For Life, a dance exercise program for those affected by cancer, and is the founder of Cancer to Dancer! Louisa hopes to continue to explore the joy of movement and aims to share that joy with the Next Step Broadway community!
